Nepenthes New York restocks on its special edition Pangean Campaign Chair, Pangean Lounger, and Pangean Comfort Stool, in collaboration with Byer of Maine. These chairs, made from robust keruing wood and coated with water-resistant oil, each feature a hand-applied Nepenthes New York patch, and boast the compact and easily portable design of Byer’s Pangean line.

The origins of Byer of Maine can be traced back to an immigrant-established textiles and slipper manufacturing business in Bangor, Maine. During World War II, Byer of Maine began producing folding cots with wooden frames and metal stampings, and in the 1950s, the company introduced cots, knapsacks, and duffels to the American market.

Although they no longer manufacture in the United States today, Byer of Maine remains a symbol of American manufacturing, and their products continue to embody the spirit of their Maine heritage.
