Nepenthes New York is restocking a specially branded version of the Pangean Campaign Chair and Pangean Lounger, manufactured by Byer of Maine. Made from durable keruing wood and coated with water-resistant oil, the Pangean line is compact and easily packable. With an embroidered patch featuring the Nepenthes New York logo, these chairs are perfect for outdoor relaxation during spring and summer.
Byer of Maine's story dates back to 1880 when a Russian immigrant founded a textiles and slipper manufacturing business in Bangor, Maine. The company moved to Oron, Maine in 1925, setting up in a repurposed Catholic church, which still serves as their headquarters today.
During World War II, Byer of Maine shifted to producing wood frame folding cots and metal stampings to support the war effort. In the 1950s, they introduced cots, knapsacks, and duffels to American consumers. In the 1990s, they expanded their product line to include wood frame camping furniture. Their products still embody Maine heritage, making them a perfect fit for the Nepenthes New York collection.
The Nepenthes New York x Byer of Maine product line is available exclusively at Nepenthes New York.
