[NOW IN STOCK] Engineered Garments x Alden Special Order Algonquin V-Tip Blucher

Nepenthes NY is proud to exclusively stock Engineered Garments x Alden Special Order Algonquin V-Tip Blucher.
Founded in Middleborough, Massachusetts in 1884, The Alden Shoe Company was one of the hundreds of American shoemakers based in New England during the 19th century. However, Alden’s refusal to lower quality standards or cater to the ever-increasing demand for cheaply made footwear has allowed them to remain in business for nearly 150 years. Today, The Alden Shoe Company is the only remaining New England shoemaker.
This Algonquin V-Tip Blucher is constructed using Alden’s 379x Military Last. Initially developed for soldiers during World War II, this last is popular among European and Japanese customers. Employing a Vibram wedge sole, and constructed with a Goodyear welt, these shoes are light and easy to wear, while still providing all-weather support.
All variations feature top-quality leather from Chicago’s famed Horween Leather Co. For the three leather styles, the shoes are produced using Horween’s trademark Chromexcel leather. Chromexcel is manufactured using a combination of chrome salts, oils and waxes, providing an exceptional smoothness and luster.

Future Engineered Garments x Alden special order are in the works, including a Cordovan model, so please keep an eye out for future releases.
