「SPECIAL RELEASE」NEPENTHES NEW YORK X BYER OF MAINE - RELEASING AUGUST 25TH

Nepenthes NY will release a specially branded version of Pangean Campaign Chair and Pangean Lounger, manufactured by Byer of Maine. Crafted from highly durable keruing wood, and coated with water-resistant oil, the Pangean line is compact and easily packable. Featuring an imprint of the Nepenthes New York logo, these durable chairs are perfect for relaxing outdoors throughout the spring and summer.
The story of Byer of Maine begins in 1880, when a Russian immigrant settled in Bangor, Maine and started a textiles and slipper manufacturing business. Expanding their stitching operations, they resettled to nearby Oron, Maine in 1925 and set up shop in a repurposed Catholic church which still houses the company today, covering over 33,000 sq. ft. of office space.
During World War II, given the changing landscape of consumer needs and the demand stemming from the American war effort, the company began production of wood frame folding cots and metal stampings. In the 1950’s the company reduced its reliance on government contracts, and introduced their cots, knapsacks and duffels to American consumers.
In the 1990’s, the company adapted once again, expanding their product line to include a series of wood frame camping furniture. Today, although they no longer manufacture in the United States, their products contain the same Maine heritage spirit, making them a perfect fit for the Nepenthes NY product line.
The Nepenthes NY x Byer of Maine product line will be available for purchase in-store, exclusively at Nepenthes NY.
