New Balance is known for doing things their way - illustrated by their insistence on top-quality manufacturing techniques. This means they own their own factories - a rarity for the footwear industry which allows the company to produce on short lead times, and cultivate inherited knowledge across generations.

In 1982 - the same year the 99x series was launched with the release of the 990 - New Balance opened the doors of their Flimby, UK factory, and have been manufacturing shoes there ever since. While much of the machinery in the UK plant is similar to its American counterparts, it typically handles softer materials, and its staff are known for their dedication - especially to the 991 model, which is one of the factory’s best known products.

This time, Nepenthes is proud to release the New Balance 991 - MADE UK in Grey. First released in 2001, the New Balance 991 saw the introduction of Abzorb cushioning across the heel and forefoot and remains a staple in the 99x series. This subtly stylish shoe is sure to go fast - so make sure to get yours while you can.

Available for purchase online at starting Saturday, October 10th.
