Engineered Garments x Overneath
Based in both New York City and Japan, OVERNEATH has teamed up for the second time with Engineered Garments, led by the ever-popular Daiki Suzuki, also based in NYC.
Following the first collaboration, this project was brought to life by a heartfelt request from the OVERNEATH designer, who has long admired and worn Engineered Garments. The concept involves creating underwear using leftover fabrics from past collections. This collaboration not only reflects a desire to be more environmentally conscious but also takes advantage of the smaller fabric requirements for producing underwear.
This time, for the first time ever for OVERNEATH, the collection includes a unisex trunks style, along with two of their bestselling items: the triangle bra and the consistently popular bra top. These three designs feature a mix of unique patterns, such as check, stripes, florals, and intricately embroidered fabrics, incorporating the distinct sensibilities of Engineered Garments. The result is a collection that beautifully blends the essence of both brands. Thanks to the team at NEPENTHES New York, we’ve created a new line of underwear that is not only comfortable but also fun to wear and style as part of your wardrobe.
OVERNEATH Brand Bio
The name OVERNEATH is derived from the English word Underneath. This subtle subversion creating a name with juxtaposed meaning. It’s underwear - but you don’t have to hide or layer it - this signifies the brand ethos and name. We want to bring underwear outside.
After working as a senior buyer and merchandiser for specialty stores for several years, the designer moved from Tokyo to her favorite city New York City.
Inspired by the energy of NYC and the diverse sense of style and fashion across all ages and genders. OVERNEATH aims to make underwear and clothing to embody this spirit and sense of freedom.
OVERNEATH underwear makes clothes more enjoyable to wear. Underwear does not need to be hidden but instead celebrated. This design ethos is represented in the pricing and quality. OVERNEATH is for everyone, and this is reflected in the price and comfort. Designed in New York City since 2019
